How to Transform Your Words into a Colorful Content Metaphor

Wordle: Content Marketing Today

Use the Wonderful Wordle to Illustrate the Essence of Your Thinking and Writing.

Thanks to the PGreenblog, I discovered an astonishing tool online that takes the black and white linear line up of words from your blog or website and turns them into glorious multi-color word-based designs.

Wordle lets you create something much like a tag cloud where the size of the words represents their frequency of use. It can tell you or your visitors what’s lurking inside the pages of your site. You may also discover that you are under or over-representing certain words or phrases in your writing.

You can let Wordle generate the graphic automatically or you can select the pieces of content that you’d like to represent. I generated the Wordle below by pasting several core content marketing articles.  I’m pretty comfortable that it gives a good flavor of what to expect on ContentMarketingToday.com.  I’m sure glad that ‘content’ and ‘marketing’ loomed very large, indeed.

You can also customize the shape, direction, and color scheme of your Wordle.  All in all, pretty cool stuff to warm you up on a frosty January evening.

Click on the link to visit the ContentMarketingToday version in cyberspace.  Then go on to create your own.

Great, post, Newt! I’m a big fan of Wordle, too. Melinda and I took all the customer feedback we got about MindManager 8 when it was first launched and used Wordle to create a “thank you” cloud to honor them and their beta participation. It was a lot of fun!
